Ah, so it’s a violent start to the premiere of W, the drama in which reality and webtoon worlds collide. No post last week, was catching some awesome films at AAIFF. You didn’t think I’d forgotten, did you?
W is ridiculously beautiful; kudos to the production designer. C’mon, I mean…those colors! That lighting! The composition! Lighting design is sharp, visual eye candy to my kdrama watching eyes.
W is the story of a meh doctor, Oh Yeon Joo, played by Han Hyo Joo (The Beauty Inside), whose webtoon artist father disappears, and Kang Cheol (Lee Jong Suk), the hero in the artist’s popular webtoon.
But four eps in and so far we have yet to see Kang Cheol save the cat. Watching Oh Yeon Joo cross over into the comic world and back, however, makes for a fun start.
W is so gorgeous, it rivals Lee Jong Suk’s hair, and even Lee Jong Suk, who looks as picture perfect as ever. There, I said it: the set design is prettier than the pretty boy.
(Bonus: Kang Ki Young and Lee Tae Hwan reunite again – well, not in the same scene yet but – yes, since their team-up in King of High School and Please Come Back, Mister.) Sidenote: hello, handsome bodyguard.
